Trudging slowly over wet sand back to the bench where your clothes were stolen. This is the coastal town that they forgot to close down. Armageddon - come armageddon! Come, armageddon! Come! Hide on the promenade, etch a postcard: How I dearly wish I was not here in the seaside town … that they forgot to bomb. Come, come, come - nuclearbomb. Asshole Island

Eigentlich sind uns allen schöne Bilder lieber. Aber manchmal wird der Ausstellungsraum zur Projektionsfläche eines Archipels an verborgenen Sehnsüchten. Asshole Island ist eine exotische Südseeinsel, die Projektionsfläche feministischer Sehnsüchte. Ein Ort wie ein schwuler Erotikfilm, wo Männer ihre Dominanz ablegen können, ohne dabei ihren Sexappeal zu verlieren. Abseits heteronormativer Vorstellungen von der Liebe entdecken wir paradisisches Neuland. “Das Feine, das Liebliche, das Mädchenhafte, das Ungefährliche, das Saubere, das Schöne, das Gute: zum Kotzen.” Anstatt immer wieder auf das Big Picture der Desillusionen an der Decke zu starren: Die Kunst als Versuch wenigstens eine Alternative zu skizzieren, einen Mangel anzudeuten, die Lücke durch ihre Beschreibung in Acryl zu schließen. Die Palmen wispern leise ein Klagelied für Britney Spears. (Und überhaupt geht es eigentlich um die Angst zu sterben.)
