Damien Di Fede makes algorithmic music and “organization makes him feel warm and fuzzy inside”. I found primes.mp3 and bubble_sort.mp3 the most remarkable pieces on his website. Primes harsh rhythm feels like a stuttering rap vocal and makes me wonder why MC Plus+ does not also use a process that truly reflects his roots, even if they are square. And Bubble Sort is far more then just a sonification of the infamous sorting algorithm, but sounds like a backwards and 2006ish version of Alvin Luciers I am sitting in a room (UBUWEB has an mp3).
To celebrate the new domain offspacecenter.com, which hosts this site as of today, and its unintended partial meaning I discovered after registering it, here is a list of places in Vienna I would consider as (artworld) offspaces:
